Stage & Production Management

Stage & Production Management

I am very grateful that I did a degree in Theatre Craft, in Durban, South Africa, instead of doing one genre like Stage Design as people do in Europe.

Through my Theatre Craft Degree I am qualified in the following:

  • Costume Design

  • Costume Construction

  • History of Costume

  • History of Stage Design

  • History of Theatre

  • Make-up & Hair, Wigs

  • Lighting

  • Model Building

  • Props

  • Puppetry

  • Stage Design

  • Scenery Construction

  • Scenic / Decor Painting

  • Sound

  • Stage / Production Management

  • Textiles

Extra Credits:

  • Movement

  • Singing (Basso Profundo)

I am also very grateful that during my three-year degree I got to work at the Playhouse Theatre Company in Durban which had five theatres including an Opera House, Drama Theatre, Experimental Theatre, Supper Theatre & Recording studio which was also used for performances. I initially started off as a dresser and by the time I finished studying I was offered an Assistant Stage Manager position on a National tour of the musical Oklahoma. - A really good grounding in all Theatre Craft Genres.

Since then I have gone on to work internationally from small community theatre productions to large scale Ballet, Drama, Musicals, Opera, Pantomime & Shakespeare. Most notably at the Royal Opera House.

I have also done my Masters in Stage Design at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

I have a great passion for designing, building the scenery, scenic painting and (deputy) stage managing shows.

Give me a shout! Let's work together!
