This is two separate canvases joined together to make one whole. 
The thought behind this piece was to not only to get the rose petals to come out of the canvas, but that one uses more senses; seeing the art, feeling or touching it and smelling it, too. 
It is built up with paper mache, pollyfilla and then painted in acrylics. The paint was infused with rose and lavender oil to make it smell.
